Healing Takes Time: Be Patient and Keep At It

Every few months, I tend to feel like I am healing. This is always a mistake. Once this thought crosses my mind, I become more relaxed with what I eat.

The act of relaxing my diet is always something I pay for. Once I begin to feel better, I need to stick with my diet for a few more months and slowly add in one food at a time.

Gastritis is a frustrating disease. I feel like there is no black-and-white regarding healing. The diet we need to be on is not exciting; if we slip up, we receive that feedback quickly.

Even on this diet, there are times when my stomach doesn’t appreciate what I have eaten. I feel like there is no rhyme or reason as to what irritates my gut and what doesn’t.

Healing Requires Patience

Do you guys feel this way? Healing gastritis requires a lot of patience. There is so much information about the best diet it is difficult to know what is right and what is not.

I put all my trust in my doctors and followed what they told me and what not to eat. This way, I have help when I have a dietary question.

Although I haven’t discussed this with my doctor, I predict that the cause of my gastritis is stress. The healing process is not just about diet for me. I am trying to incorporate exercise into my daily routine and find ways to lower my anxiety.

I am high-strung, so my main goal is to chill out. I am sure this won’t completely heal my stomach, but it won’t hurt. Let life happen.

Remember, I am closely working with my doctor to heal my gastritis. These are accounts of what has worked for me. Always consult your doctor if you have any questions.
